K. C. Reddy

K. C. Reddy or Kysamballi Chengalraya Reddy ( |Kannada]] : (4 May 1902 - 1976) was the first Chief Minister of Karnataka(then Mysore state) in India. He belonged to Kysamballi village of Kolar district.

He was born to vokkaliga family in Kolar district [1][2] He was the president of the Mysore People's Federation from 1935 to 1937. He was president of Mysore Congress twice, in 1937-38 and 1946-47. He was also a member of the Constituent Assembly of India. He was elected a member of the Mysore Legislative Assembly in 1952, member of Rajya Sabha from 1952-1957, and member of Lok Sabha from 1957-1964 during which he served as Minister for Housing and Supplies in 1957-61 and as Minister for Commerce and Industries in 1961-62.[3]
